Why waste all that valuable, full-sun real estate and have no tasty morsels to show for it? Last summer, I noticed how absolutely gorgeous the yellow squash blossoms were all summer, but my poor plant only produced a few small samples, due to its location in a partly-sunny bed. This year, they will be front and center, surrounded by decorative, low-growing flowers. I love the idea of gardens being productive and beautiful all at the same time, so as I'm mixing non-edible flowers in my gardens I'll also add some veggies in the flowerbeds.
